Save the Moles!

As you may know by now, last night Elmbridge Council's Planning Committee passed Molesey Football Club's planning application and work can now go ahead.

We are all absolutely delighted at the news and very grateful that local councillors have approved the application. What a great relief it is that your wonderful Club will now be saved.

Despite some councillors’ initial concerns, the application was approved without opposition following impassioned speeches from Leader of the Council, Cllr John O’Reilly and Planning Committee Chair, Cllr Tim Grey.

Much of the debate concerned the improved access arrangements onto Walton Road, but despite Surrey County Council’s reservations committee members agreed with the planning officer’s report that this was only a minor discrepancy and not reason to turn the application down. However the Club does want to show that we are good to our word and we will continue to work with our partners Rushmon Homes to ensure that the new access meets the full highways standard if at all possible and will do all we can to further improve the situation.

This result is a great tribute to the people of Molesey who have shown tremendous support for the Club over the past few months and we hope that many of them will now be joining the Club and attending matches!

The real thanks though must go to the wonderful group of people at the Club, headed by our Chairperson Tracy Teague, who have worked so tirelessly to make this possible.

Thank you Again!
